A Note to Our Customers

ECCSolar’s priority is the health and safety of our customers and employees. We are committed to reducing the risk of COVID-19 while still enabling people to go solar, which provides certainty and safety for families during this uncertain time.  There is no doubt that our normal routines and habits have become dramatically altered since the surfacing of the COVID-19 virus. ECCSolar would like to inform our customers that all locations and offices will remain open for phone calls and emails but closed to walk-ins. Installations are continuing and products are available to install.

Phone and Video Sales Consultations:

While we expect most customers may prefer in-home consultations, our sales team can conduct virtual home consultations for customers utilizing video-conferencing technology. Should you prefer these options, please let us know.

Technology-Assisted Installation

Similar to our solar consultations, we are utilizing drone technology to complete rooftop surveys where possible. These tools and processes allow us to keep your project moving without needing regular in-person meetings and reviews. We manage everything for you in the background.

Here are some of the precautions we are committing to:

  • Ensuring our employees are healthy and not coming to work if they are sick.
  • Training employees to follow best practices from public health and government authorities to reduce the risk of potential exposure, including guidelines on handwashing, device cleaning & sanitation, social distancing, and understanding and recognizing signs of symptoms.
  • Securing our workspaces. This includes increasing the frequency of vehicle and office cleaning and sanitizing, and following the best practice recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
  • Suspending all non-critical business travel.

Today, the solar tax credit is still available to both home and business owners. Here are some of the details:

  • 2019-The solar tax credit remains at 30%
  • 2020-Homeowners and commercial solar system installation will benefit from a 26% deduction
  • 2021-Homeowners and commercial solar system installation will benefit from a 22% deduction
  • 2022 onward-Only owners of new commercial solar system installation will benefit from a 10% deduction of the cost of installation. There are currently no federal tax credits for residential solar system installations from 2022 onward
How do you qualify for the solar tax credit when filing taxes?

If you want to install a solar system, you can qualify for 30% thanks to the federal tax credit. However, to do so, you must meet a few requirements during the tax year:

  • Your solar system has to be installed by Dec. 31, 2019.
  • You must own and not rent the home or business that you want to outfit with the solar system-a rental property doesn’t qualify.
  • You must own the solar panels. Leasing disqualifies you.

We want to thank everyone of you that attended our ribbon cutting ceremony! We hope you had a chance to take a look at the renovation of our new building and enjoy some light refreshments. We thank our customers for being the best part of ECCSolar!

Solar Tax Credit for 2018

Get your HUGE tax credit before its too late!

What is the solar tax credit?

The federal solar tax credit, also known as the investment tax credit (ITC), allows you to deduct 30 percent of the cost of installing a solar energy system from your federal taxes. The ITC applies to both residential and commercial systems, and there is no cap on its value.

Do I qualify for the solar panel tax credit?

As long as you own your solar energy system, you are eligible for the solar tax credit. Even if you don’t have enough tax liability to claim the entire credit in one year, you can “roll over” the remaining credits into future years for as long as the tax credit is in effect. However, remember that if you sign a lease or PPA with a solar installer, you are not the owner of the system, and thus you cannot receive the tax credit.
