ECC Solar was founded as Energy Concepts in Las Cruces in 1991. The founder and current owner, Cary Lane, was working as an engineer at the SW-RES, a DOE PV test facility located at NMSU at that time. He studied PV systems from around the country and worked with manufacturers to help develop reliable products. Cary had a passion for taking the lessons learned in research and getting them into the field in real life applications, which prompted the creation of Energy Concepts. Cary continues to keep an ear on product research to establish what new products will be available soon, and what products need more testing before being ready for primetime. Not wanting to test products on customers, ECC passes up many new products for more reliable solutions. History has proven this to be a great choice for customers, as products come and go so quickly in a developing industry like solar.
