ECC Solar is an electrical and general contractor serving New Mexico and West Texas with energy related services. We have a dedicated team who take pride in being well-trained and prepared to provide a great customer experience on every project we encounter. Finding custom solutions to meet your specific needs, and then making it happen, is what we live for.
ECC Solar was founded as Energy Concepts in Las Cruces in 1991. The founder and current owner, Cary Lane, was working as an engineer at the SW-RES, a DOE PV test facility located at NMSU at that time. He studied PV systems from around the country and worked with manufacturers to help develop reliable products. Cary had a passion for taking the lessons learned in research and getting them into the field in real life applications, which prompted the creation of Energy Concepts. Cary continues to keep an ear on product research to establish what new products will be available soon, and what products need more testing before being ready for primetime. Not wanting to test products on customers, ECC passes up many new products for more reliable solutions. History has proven this to be a great choice for customers, as products come and go so quickly in a developing industry like solar.
ECC Solar made it’s start with off-grid services, and this option continues to be at the foundation of our company. Off-grid systems comprise over half of the work we do. Whether you want to get away from your current utility, or you have beautiful land with no grid nearby, we can custom design a system to meet your needs. Although many great products are available now, care must be taken to ensure the right combination is put together to meet your specific needs for many years to come. Our experienced engineers are here to help you create your perfect remote power system based on your lifestyle and budget, and continue to be of service when future maintenance is needed.
While some electric grids have been exceptionally reliable, this is not always the case. We do not know what the future holds. It would be a disappointment to be left in the dark with food spoiling and possibly even no water when the grid-power goes out. The last few years have seen great advancements in the technology for grid-backup equipment, making it a practical solution that will make power outages rare. Let our engineers work with you to design your system that will reliably meet your backup requirements and provide secure solar electricity for many years to come.
Grid-tied solar is remarkably simple to install and interconnect and will provide many years of cost-effective, reliable solar electricity for your home or business. ECC Solar uses well-tested components installed by experienced employees. We provide trained maintenance personnel to ensure you have a great experience with solar. Each system is custom designed to meet your energy and mounting requirements. Contact us for a proposal to see just how much you can save over the years on your electric bill.
Small utility-scale PV systems in the 1-2MW size are now becoming popular with the smaller electric co-ops and community solar projects. This niche size is too small for the national utility-scale installers and is a great fit for ECC Solar. We have a flexible temporary work force that can mobilize around New Mexico and west Texas to meet the needs of small developers.
ECC Solar has several financing partners to choose from that will make solar affordable. From local credit unions and national banks to a specialty remodeling lender, ECC has facilitated a variety of loans. We will recommend the best partner for your situation and simplify the process. Customers can go directly through us to set up a financial plan they are most comfortable with.
Being in an evolving industry for many years has given ECC Solar a broad range of experience in a variety of fields. Wind energy was a significant part of our business at one time, until the economics surrounding residential wind in New Mexico changed. We have adapted to work on demand reduction and energy saving projects for both commercial and residential applications. We are also licensed as a general contractor and electrical contractor, which allows us to incorporate additional building projects along with the solar as needed.
